This is to notify users of the Alaska Dog Mushers (ADMA) Jeff Studdert Trail System that ADMA will be conducting early-season sled dog races Sunday December 28, January 11, January 25 and February 8. These races will be held if the temperature at the Fairbanks Airport is -20F or warmer. If temperatures are colder, these races may be moved to the next weekend. Championship Races do not have a temperature cutoff.
The ADMA Gold Run will be held February 14 and 15. The Annamaet Limited North American Championship will be run on March 13, 14 and 15. The 80th Running of the Open North American Championship will occur on March 20, 21 and 22. Other races may be conducted on the trail system by other groups such as the Fairbanks Skijoring and Pulk Association and the Fairbanks Cycle Club.
ADMA races generally are held between 10 AM and 4 PM, but certain trail turns or access points may be blocked before or after that when the ADMA grooms and prepares the trail. The specific trails that will be utilized in the races can be found on the ADMA website (https://alaskadogmushers.com/) or Facebook page.
