Notice: Dog Mushing race on Alaska Dog Mushers Association Trail Network February 15 & 16
Trail users are requested to stay off the ADMA trail system between the Mushers Hall and the 12.5 mile turn between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM on Saturday February 15 and Sunday February 16. The trail system beyond the 12.5 mile turn will not be affected by race activity. The trail system is shown HERE. The trails on the right side of the map are the ones being used in the race.
All trail blocks will be removed after the race on both days. However, there will likely be dog teams training on the entire trail system after the race so trail users should be alert for fast moving teams. The Mushers Hall is an excellent spot to view the start and finish of the race and there will be food and ADMA shirts, hoodies, and hats for sale.
There are many places to access the trail to see the teams running, but please stay off the race trail and leave pets at home. There have been incidents involving spectators and loose dogs getting tangled with race teams in the past. The resulting tangles can cause injury to people and dogs. and negate the hard work that mushers have put into training their teams for the race.
Thank you,
Jeff Conn, Race Marshall
