Fairbanks trail lovers have two chances to give back to trails on Saturday, which is National Trails Day. (There’s also a hike happening that night. See more at the bottom of this post.)
National Trails Day at Ester Dome Singletrack
When: Saturday, June 1st, @ 2.00pm.
Where: Happy Valley. 1.6 Mile Ester Dome Rd, rendezvous at the pull-out.
Help us clear the Ester Dome Singletrack of debris, refurbish water drainage and clear brush away from the trail. Be sure to dress for the weather and wear appropriate shoes! Try to get there by 2.00pm though – so you can get a tool before the truck is locked up.
Bring drink, gloves & eye protection. We’ll provide the tools!! Please RSVP so we can provide sufficient tools.

National Trails Day at Skarland Trail
When: Saturday, June 1st, @ 10 am
Where: Kingfisher Rd and Skarland Trail (may have additional locations if lots of people sign up)
As part of National Trails Day, we will fill thermokarst dips on the Skarland Trail and eliminate steep side slopes that interfere with grooming. Proper gear is important. Eye protection, light hiking boots and gloves are a must. The only rule is Don’t Get Hurt!
Bring drink snacks and tools appropriate for chopping roots, digging dirt, raking things smooth. I will bring some tools.
Please let Stan know if you are coming (but it’s OK if you just show up, too).
